At Sankofa's Willow, our mission is to honor the strength and resilience of the human spirit, empowering individuals to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
With over a decade of experience in healthcare and business, I am passionate about empowering and uplifting individuals. My personal journey with unmedicated birth inspired me to advocate for and educate women, helping them achieve their desired birth experiences.
I empower expecting parents by providing evidence-based education, compassionate support, and personalized advocacy. My services include prenatal and postpartum care, lactation consultation, and nutrition guidance. I provide personalized care, including in-person visits, virtual consultations, and around the clock communication. I am dedicated to helping families navigate their journey with confidence and ease. Additionally, I offer support for families with children ages birth to 5 years. Contact me today to learn more about how I can support you and your family's journey.

A birthing doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a person before, during, and shortly after childbirth. Their goal is to help the person achieve the healthiest, most satisfying birth experience possible.
The role of the doula is never to take the place of husbands or partners in labor, but rather to complement and enhance their experience. Today, more partners/husbands play an active role in the birth process. However, some partners prefer to enjoy the delivery without having to stand in as the labor coach.
By having a doula as a part of the birth team, a partner/father has the flexibility to do whatever they choose. They can encourage the partner/father to use comfort techniques and can step in if they want a break. Having a doula allows the partner/father to support their partner emotionally during labor and birth and to also enjoy the experience without the added pressure of trying to remember everything learned in childbirth class!
Yes! Doula services are now more accessible than ever. Illinois Medicaid now covers doula services, and we offer flexible payment plans to ensure that everyone can benefit from the numerous advantages of doula support.
While a C- Section is a surgical procedure, it can still be an emotional and physically demanding experience. A doula can provide valuable support including but not limited to emotional support, physical support, advocacy and postpartum support.
